On a stroll...

Sunday afternoon was a beautiful day for a stroll. My friend at church gave me a jogging stroller, which comes in handy for all the jogging that I do. (Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha-oooh, that was a good one.) Anyway, we do like to take walks around our neighborhood and this is much easier than putting him in the stroller that holds his car seat. He loved it and was sound asleep most of the walk. Hopefully it will get some good mileage this summer!

On A Roll...

Friday afternoon, Andrew went to Mimi's school for rolling over. Here you can see he was successful (with a little pushing) from us. He did roll over twice on Sunday all by himself! What a big boy!

I have added a couple of links to two of my friends websites.

-Kristin Mathis & Funky Junk Designs- (She is the one who took Andrew's pictures when he was a newborn) She is so creative and was recently on HGTV.

-Jenny Stegall & Ann Louise- This is a PJ line for Kids and Adults. She has recently moved back to the US after a couple of years in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Singapore. In addition to starting her own PJ line, she is an amazing chef and a mother of 3.

You can place orders directly through each of the websites. Happy Shopping!

16 Week Update~So Fun, So Far!

16 Weeks have gone by so fast! I know that all the mom's out there can relate. I look in Andrew's closet and have packed up a tub of clothes that he has outgrown. I can't believe he is big enough to outgrow anything, but he is. He still sneezes 3 times in a row. He loves his bath and has started to kick and splash. He is taking anywhere between 6oz-8oz of formula depending on how he feels. He can grab and bat at his toys. He chews/sucks on his fingers. He has not found his thumb yet, but I feel sure that he will one day soon. He mainly plays in his bouncy seat or on his mat mat. He has become a big fan of the swing too. It used to put him to sleep, but now he just lays back and looks around. He is sleeping about 6-8 hours a night, but has been getting up once during that time to eat. He loves to watch his Praise Baby DVD~ (Thanks Barkley!!) & basketball. Poor thing has been watching basketball his whole life. I don't know what we will do after the Final Four. He can talk-oooh, oh and AAAAHHH are his three favorite words. He will throw out some jibber jabber on occasion, usually in the car. He will try to sing along with me when I am singing to him, which is so funny it makes me laugh, and then he stops and smiles. Bo can make him laugh. I hope to capture it on video soon, but by the time I grab the camera, he has usually stopped. He is very laid back. He likes his car seat, and is content while in it. This makes it easy (right now) for us to go out to dinner or somewhere else with him. He is very laid back and enjoys being "on the go." (I think?) One of his favorite toys is a Lion rattle. (Bo does not think it looks like a Lion at all, but it is). It hangs on his carseat and Andrew will stare at it and talk to it. He is such a great baby. It is so much fun to spend time with him and get to know him more. I can hardly wait to get home to him at night and LOVE our weekends together. I also have to give a shout out to the best dad/husband in the whole world. Bo is amazing. He is 100% hands on and helps with EVERYTHING- bath, washing bottles, feeding, changing, playing, and all the other things that we do on a daily basis. Not to mention he still cooks dinner! He loves doing things for us and we love him. He is already a great example for Andrew to look up to. I know he will teach him what it means to be a Godly husband and father. What more could a mom want?

We go to the doctor in a couple of weeks, so I will let you know Andrew's stats then (weight, length, percentiles, etc.) We are all doing great and loving this life God gave us!

Happy 1st Birthday James!

Our sweet friend Missy invited us to share in her son's 1st birthday this weekend. He is a sweet little boy who has grown up so fast! I can't imagine Andrew running around the house like he was today. It was Andrew's first birthday party he was invited too. He slept the whole time! He was worn out from his photo shoot earlier in the afternoon. I will have some pictures to post from that in a couple of weeks. I think we got some good ones! Happy Birthday Sweet Baby James!

Happy Birthday Meme

Happy Birthday to a wonderful Meme! We are all so blessed to have you in our lives! Thank you for all you do. We all love you!

Playing with a new toy!

It is so much fun to watch Andrew grow and learn. We put this toy on his carseat a couple of weekends ago when we went to Auburn. I was thinking that it would entertain him while we were in the car for 2 hours. I was not planning on him sleeping the whole time we were in the car. Anyway, he started to play with it on his own on Friday. It is just the begining of lots of playing in the months ahead. He is so proud of himself. We are very proud too. You are growing up little one!

Last weekend

Sunday after church, we went to Outback with our friends Kristin & Alan. Andrew thinks his Aunt KK is so funny!
Saturday Andrew went to his Nonna's house to visit his Uncle Bill, Aunt Kenna and Cousins- Ella, Sara and baby Bo. Here are the girls feeding him. He had lots of fun.

Hello Gorgeous!

More tummy time. Andrew is not a big fan of tummy time so far. He will usually last about 5-10 minutes on a good day. This week he found himself the mirror on his mat-mat and couldn't get enough of himself! He thinks he is pretty cute. I tend to agree.

Splish Splash I was takin' a bath...

We have removed the hammock from Andrew's bath tub and he is now down in the water more. HE LOVES IT!! We are in a pretty good routine every night and bath time is usually uneventful. He has always liked his bath ever since we started using this tub. He is usually very serious while he is in the tub. No expression at all, unless it is a frown. Last night he giggled and smiled the whole time. It was so much fun. He also splashed me and the kitchen floor. He smells so good after his bath. One of my favorite smells! A sweet, clean baby.

What a difference a week makes

Today was just beautiful! Hard to believe that a week ago there was so much snow in Alabama. We finally had Andrew's dedication at church. Our sweet friend Steve Castleman spoke and said a beautiful prayer for our son. Bo and I are so thankful to be a part of such a great church.

Andrew Goes to College

What a great day! Saturday the boys and I made our first of what will certainly be many trips to Auburn. It was a beautiful day! We visited College Street and showed Andrew Toomer's corner. We stopped in Mellow Mushroom and we all had a snack. Andrew loved it! We went to the Auburn/LSU basketball game and Auburn won 69-53. Andrew is a champ! He did so well that we will definitely take him again sometime. He loves his car seat and gets so snug, he falls asleep in about 15 minutes. He had a great nap on the way there and back. When we were leaving Auburn, he wouldn't stop "talking". He has started to babble and it is so funny. I always thought it would just be easier to stay home, but at his age, he is really easy to take him places. As long as we have some diapers and bottles, he is perfectly content.

Taking a little nap during half time.
Waaarrrrrr Eagle, HEY!

First trip to Auburn~ 3 months old.

The atmosphere at the game was great on Saturday.

"Its 3AM, I must be lonely"...matchbox20

Every night this week I have had a date with my sweet son at 3AM. I know it sounds crazy, but it is still one of my favorite times of the day with him. He will have a bottle and go right back to sleep. I love holding him as he sleeps. So sweet and snuggly! Getting up again for work is not as pleasant. I am so sleepy! I have never been much of a morning person. Andrew is a morning person. He is so happy after his morning bottle. He sits in his bouncy seat while we get ready and kicks and coos and laughs. He always looks so confused when I am out of the shower with a towel on my head. When I take it off he smiles like “There’s my mom! I knew she was there somewhere”

Disappointed by the snow

Was I the only one who was disappointed by the snow we got on Sunday? Pretty much all day Saturday I ran errands and got the house cleaned because we were planning on having about 20 members of our family over for lunch after Andrew’s baby dedication at church. My dad came in town from Atlanta. We made finger sandwiches and a HUGE fruit salad, bought a delicious cake from Edgars, cleaned the floors, etc. I got out all of the pretty Arthur Court trays we got for wedding gifts 7 years ago for the 2nd or 3rd time. (I am going to make it a point to use that stuff more often!) Everything was all set on Saturday night when we left to go to Ashley’s party.
Andrew woke up about 6AM on Sunday and when I was feeding him, I noticed there was a slight dusting of snow outside. That is pretty, I thought. It was about what I had expected for a snowfall in Alabama. I went back to sleep for about an hour and when I woke up again, it was pouring down snow! So pretty! We all were up at this point just watching it and having breakfast. Then I got a text from my friend Wendy who goes to church with us. “Church is cancelled”. WHAT! Cancelled? Seriously because of a tiny bit of snow? I was devastated. For those of you who don’t know, I am a pretty laid back person and can usually go with the flow. What I can’t deal with is when there is a plan and it gets ruined. Something in my head clicks and I usually have a meltdown (no pun intended). The party was ruined, the whole day was ruined, in my mind. Bo, trying to make me feel better, asked if I wanted to make a snow man. I don’t think he expected me to say “YES!!” But we did make a little snow family and it was fun to be outside in it for a few minutes. Thanks for trying to cheer me up! After a nap and the forecast for a clear afternoon, we decided to go on with the party. My dad had to go back to Atlanta to try to beat the snow, but we had my mom and Mij and Bo’s family over. It turned out to be a nice afternoon to celebrate the snow and the commitment that we are making to raise Andrew to know Jesus.
As for the snow, it melted by the end of the afternoon. That is the way an Alabama snowfall should be.

Celebrating the big 3-0!!~FINALLY.

Well, our sweet friend, Ashley finally turned 30! We celebrated by going out to Belini's Restaurant with about 30 friends. It was a fun dinner and was delicious. Then we went to Grey Bar. We had to pay a cover! I can't tell you the last time I paid a cover to get in ANYWHERE. Does that tell you how long it has been since I have really been "out"? There was a fun band, but we only lasted about 45 minutes. I also forgot how LOUD it is when there is a band playing. It was a fun night with good friends. Happy Birthday Ash!

At dinner

My dad came in town to celebrate Andrew's baby dedication which was scheduled for Sunday. He was too happy to know that he would have the little man all by him self while we went to the party. They had a lot of fun together. They make each other laugh!
