Zoo Trip 2010

My Mom and Mij invited us to join them at the Zoo to celebrate my niece's 3rd birthday. I have to say that even though it ended up being about 90 degrees on Saturday, we had a great time! Andrew loved being with his big cousins (& little Cruz). He was so good. He never complained about being in his stroller and was great when he was out walking around. I hope we will go back again because I didn't get to see the sea lion show and I really wanted to. We did get to see the giant turtles and I think those were Andrew's favorite. He says "tur tell". Here are some pictures of our fun day.
Thanks for taking us to the Zoo Mimi and Papa!

Whew! What a day!

Last weekend, we had Andrew's cousin, Raven come over and spend the night. Andrew loves her and she is so sweet to him. They played outside with the bubbles and golf set for a while. Raven also decided that Bo needed to have his toenails painted. What a great Uncle he is! I wish I had a picture of that to post! Trust me, he had pretty pink toenails!
Looks like I will need my putter.
Mind if I play through?
In the rough again?

16-17 Month Update

Sorry for the delay with this update. The last couple of months have been so busy. Bo was out of town for about 10 days (2 different trips) and Andrew is much more mobile than ever before. He is climbing on and off of chairs and any thing else he can get into. He is running too! Our nights are spent playing and laughing and bathing and snuggling then it is off to bed. We are all exhausted by bedtime. He is doing good sleeping in hid big boy bed. We have had some long nights here and there, but lately he has been doing so much better. He goes to bed around 8 and wakes up about 6. He used to get up at 7, but I think he know he can get out of bed and is ready to go at 6 now! (ugh!)
"Rascally" I don't know if that is a word, but that describes Andrew to a "T". He is just a little rascal. In to EVERYTHING and he thinks he is so funny. He LOVES to hide and is not scared to go into our closet or a dark room and shut the door. He just laughs and squeals when you go and find him. His favorite toys are balls and his new golf set. We play outside almost every day after school. He loves being outside and also loves to look at his books. He won't really sit down and let you read to him, but he could look at them for at least an hour sometimes. His favorite shows are Baby Einstein and Mickey Mouse Club house. When he turned 16 months, he would wake up in the morning and say "Ein-ah" which is Einstein. I miss watching Good Morning America! When did this oil spill happen? I feel so out of touch! He does a pretty mean "hot dog dance" at the end of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse too. It is so cute.
Where is Andrew?
His favorite snack is Golden Flake Cheese Puffs. His favorite thing to eat at dinner is cheese and bananas but also likes chicken and green beans. He can say all those things and says "snack" when he wants a goldfish or cookie. His favorite songs are "Wheels on the Bus" and "Old MacDonald" He know the sounds a cow, pig, horse, bird, dog and cat make. He also likes to sing "Happy Birthday" and "If You're Happy & You Know It" (I think it is because he can say "happy") He started putting 2-3 words together at 16 months. He also started to say "please" and "thank you", especially at meal time. He knows all his cousins and loves his family. He can say everyone's name and we pray for them all at night. He doesn't let me forget anyone either!
He has 12 teeth. 6 on top and 6 on the bottom. We should have another on the top pretty soon. He has had 3 haircuts (4 if you count the one Bo gave him). He has not been sick since he got tubes in his ears. He is doing great in school and I think he is the class president of the wobblers.
I can see him growing and learning almost every day. I feel like the last 2 months have just been an explosion of new things for him. We love him more every day and are so proud of him. We feel so blessed to be his parents and are so thankful for this opportunity God gave us.

Big Boy Bed

After Houdini made his escape, we decided it would be safer to take the front of Andrew's crib off. I just kept thinking that he would fall and really hurt himself in the middle of the night. As you can see, he really likes his new digs. He thinks it is really fun to get in and out of his bed. The first week or so, he was up 2 & 3 times a night (which hasn't happened since he was 10 weeks old!) I was really getting a dose of what it was like to have a baby that wouldn't sleep. So far this week, he has slept through the night the last 2 nights. I have found him on the floor a couple of nights and have put him back in his bed, but I think he is getting used to his new room and realizing that he is OK in this new bed.
Hey! Check this out!!
OK, This is too fun! I love my new bed!!!

Mother's Day 2010

Mothers Day is such a fun holiday to celebrate now. And it comes right on the heels of my birthday! We had a great day and went out to lunch with my mom and step dad. Andrew did great at the restaurant (thanks to baby Einstein and a portable DVD player). Bo gave me this cute new hair cut that I am sporting (NO he didn't cut it, just gave me the $$ to pay for it!) I love getting a nice big dose of self esteem for a present. Andrew gave me a sweet card and I also got a towel wrap and some flowers and some Bath and Body Works soap. Later that afternoon we had Bo's mom and the kids over for dinner. It was a busy day, but so much fun. I am so glad that I am a mom, and most importantly, I am so glad that I am Andrew's mom. I can't believe that God picked me to have this job. He makes every day amazing and fun. Thanks for giving me another holiday, Andrew!

Watching Daddy

The time has come to start doing yard work again. Bo was out mowing the grass the other night and Andrew just stayed at the windows and watched him work. It was so cute! He was even in the bath tub and would hear the lawn mower go by and say "Dada!!" We went to a yard sale that weekend and happened to find a toy lawn mower for $1. Good buy! Now almost every day after school, he mows the driveway! Sounds like he may not be that far away from getting himself a summer job! We sure do need him to start pulling his weight around here! One day I will be big like my daddy.

Happy Day!

A couple of weeks ago, we celebrated my sweet nephew's 10th birthday. It was even more special because earlier that day, Bo baptized Cory at church. We are so proud of him and the decision he has made to follow Christ. Andrew LOVES Cory. He would say "Happy Day!" for Happy Birthday. He loves to sing "Happy Birthday" too. He calls Cory, "Dash". He can't say Cory yet, but he can say Dash. I know Cory will be a good influence on him as he grows up. He is so sweet to Andrew when they are together. Andrew thinks that he is the coolest person in the room!
Cory and his Ronnie Brown Jersey.
He is really becoming a big sports fan. Really into the NBA, NFL and College Sports.
Blowing out the 10 Candles on his cookie cake.
GrandDaddy and GrandMama came in town for the special occasion.
Andrew calls GrandMama "Gigi" for now.

We received an unexpected visitor last night... At about 2:30 AM, there was a knock on the door. No, not the front door, our bedroom door! It was Andrew! He somehow figured out how to get out of his crib. He never made much noise trying to do it and didn't cry when he fell out. He only cried when he got to our door and couldn't get in. What a rascal! It scared me to death and I think I scared Bo when I jumped out of bed and ran to the door. Thank goodness he was not hurt. All I could think about were all the things that he didn't get into. I am assuming that he just came straight to our room, but who knows! It was a long night because he did not want to be back in his crib and didn't want to be by himself. I am hoping that it was just a bad dream and this will not be an ongoing thing. He has always been such a good sleeper, we are not used to being up all night with him!
What a little Rascal!
