1st Easter Egg Hunt

Where are the eggs???
Still Looking...
Look at all the eggs I found!
Please don't touch me Mr. Easter Bunny.

Our friend Ashley invited us to an Easter Egg hunt last weekend. Andrew had practiced with PawPaw a few weeks ago, but I didn't really know how he would react. He did really good! I am way too competitive and wanted him to get a bunch of eggs, but he was perfectly content with the ones he got. He was excited to find candy inside them too! After the hunt the Easter Bunny stopped by. Andrew wanted NOTHING to do with him at first, but after seeing all the other kids having their picture made with the bunny, he wanted to give it a shot. We just took one together, but it is a start!

knock knock... Who's there?? Terrible 2's!!

We have had a couple of nights lately when the terrible 2's have shown up uninvited. Let me make myself clear. You are not welcome here! Ugh! This is the part about parenting being hard. Up to this point, it hasn't been hard. Now we are making the tough decisions and showing "tough love" We want to spoil him and give him everything he wants, especially since we both work and have such limited time with him, but know that is not always the right answer. The good news is that we are working together and I think that these little challenges are making us better parents. We talk things through and are trying different ideas and so far things are working out pretty well. With that being said, Mr Terrible 2 only shows up about 1% of the time, which makes the other 99% super fun.
Last week when Andrew got out of the bath and was getting all dried off, he looked over at Bo and said: "Hey dad, will you do me a favor?" Bo: Sure buddy, what is it? AMK: Go get me some milk.

Happy Birthday To Meeee!

What a sweet birthday present! I tried to get him to sing it to me again and he said "no mommy, i already singed it." It was a great day topped off with dinner at home with our family and cookie cake! Bo got me 2 tickets to see Zac Brown and I am so excited! I love my birthday and I love to celebrate me! What a wonderful life I have and how I continue to count my blessings and I am so thankful for another year FULL of wonderful friends, family, love and laughter. It's great to finally be 28! (haha)

Good Times

After the morning race we went over to Chris and Mindy's for a cookout. The kids loved being outside and we all had a fun visit. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful group of friends.

I am not a big "race fan" but I have been to Talladega and I have been wanting to go to Barber Motorsports Park for a while. I kept hearing about it and have asked Bo to take me, but it has never worked out. Well luckily for me, one of the races this year just so happened to fall on my birthday weekend. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING!!! It was so much fun. Of course we went with a group and got a VIP experience.(duh, Bo Kerr set this up people! He doesn't know any other way!) We started out with a tour of the museum. Let me tell you... WOW! This is Mr. Barber's personal collection of motorcycles, race cars, boats, cars and collectibles. It is so impressive. I don't even really like motorcycles, but to see 700 on display (and there are another 600 in storage)was really impressive. We were also informed that everything in the museum would run if it had gas and oil.

Collection of Lotus race cars. Notice all the bikes in the background...

Next we were off to the paddock... We got up close and personal tours of the cars, and trailers. We watched some of the Indy cars go for their inspection after the qualifying. (Unfortunately I just deleted the picture and can't upload it into the middle of this post. UGH!)

We got to watch one race with a bunch of "street cars" Mazdas, Mustangs, Mini Coopers etc.

Ahhhh, yes ladies. He is just as pretty in person as he is on TV. You may call him McDreamy if you are a fan of Grey's Anatomy, but I call him McRacy because he is all about some race cars. He seemed to be very nice and genuine and was talking to alot of people in his area. We didn't stick around to talk, but I did get a good long look at him. YUMMY!

Overall I give Barber Motorsports park 2 thumbs up! It was a fun day and am so proud that we have this here in our own back yard.

Enjoying the beautiful weather

While Bo was gone to the Final Four in Houston, we ejoyed a quiet weekend at home. We did Thomas the Train on Saturday and played outside after church on Sunday. We had beautiful weather. Of course Andrew wanted to be fully dressed to go out in the sun, so he made sure he was protected with his hat and mittens!

Fun times in the jump, jump
Loving life!

This boy is a mess! Here he is a couple of weekends ago out for a quick ride. I say "quick" because he hasn't figured out how to pedel yet, so we usually do a couple of laps around the driveway and he is ready to do something else. He is constantly making me laugh!

A Day Out with Thomas

The Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum is great. If you haven't been and you have a kid that likes trains, it is so much fun. This was our second trip. You may remember that we went back in October for the Pumpkin Patch train ride. This time we went and it was all about Thomas the train and all his buddies. We took about a 20 minute train ride and there were a lot of other activities. The day was just perfect! Sunny and nice. They had a putt putt golf area, a jump station, a tent full of train tables, pictures with Thomas, a petting zoo and of course a gift shop with everything from Thomas toothbrushes to books, games, t-shirts, etc. Luckily Andrew doesn't really know that we can buy all that stuff, he just thinks it is there to look at I guess. Gigi came over from Georgia and both of Bo's sisters went along with my mom and 2 of Andrew's cousins-Raven and Gabriel. The kids had a great time and the adults did too.

Parade Song

Andrew heard a song by Gloriana on the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. We watched it over and over for several months. Then I downloaded it from itunes, and I have found their music video on you tube and we watch it on my iphone sometimes at night. He just loves the song. Here he is singing it freestyle. Thursday night, he just felt like singing. I am so glad that I captured it. He really loves music. Here are the words... try to follow along, and excuse my singing... it isn't nearly as cute.

Down a back road
Long, hot summer
A couple kids runnin' loose and wild
He kissed her
She said mister,
Take an inch and I'll give you a mile

I ain't here to do anything half-way
Don't really care what anyone might say
I just wanna free fall for a while

That rebel moon is shinin'
Those stars burn like diamonds
Hell bent on chasin' down that crazy slide
I'll follow you where you're leading
To the first sweet taste of freedom
You got me runnin' baby,
Wild at heart

New Bed

Well Andrew has officially been upgraded. He has been sleeping on a twin size AIR MATTRESS for 11 months. Yes, almost a whole year. Now before you go calling DHR, read that sentence again. He has been SLEEPING... Whatever works to keep a kid sleeping through the night, I say "do it!" Unless that is having that kid sleep with you. I personally think that is a huge no no. Anyway, we ended up getting him this luxurious queen size bed with a pillow top mattress. He is still sleeping all night and loves the fact that he has a step stool to climb up in the bed.
